Mei-Li Coolan

Mei-Li was a Professional in the Software Development space and has worked on Not-for-profit, Business, and Government systems. After years of observing how like-minded and supportive the community could be, she was forced to make the leap into game development upon learning that a friend was using “ToDo.txt” to manage their entire project.

Now, as a Freelance Games Producer, Mei-Li is supporting boutique Australian game studios such as Witch Beam, EarthWork Games, and Origame Digital. She helps keep developers on track with a wide skill set that crosses project management, business development, pitching, concept design, and release management. In her personal time she is a volunteer organiser for her local IGDA chapter in Brisbane (brIGDA) and facilitates local networking events, including the Queensland Games Festival. In 2024 she was selected for the IGDA-Foundation Virtual Exchange as a Next Gen Leader, and later that year she started volunteering with the foundation as a Next Gen Leaders Cohort Coordinator.
