William Lautama

My name is William Lautama and I am currently a full time game programming tutor at AIE’s Bachelor Degree. I have done a total of 11 game jams and 6 of them were done this year alone. Outside of my full time job, I’m currently working on [K]night City, an action platformer where you play as a retired alcoholic knight that accidently transported forward into time! A fun fact about me is I am able to play Mario Kart with the controller backwards.

Game jams are game making competitions that give you a limited amount of time to make a game. Most people tend to use game jams to up their skills or expand their portfolio. Not me, I want to win. Winning a game jam, whether it’s a small or a big one, is statically very hard since voting is mostly done by the public, but there are ways to increase the chances greatly without cheating of course! Whether it’s coming up with cool mechanics, beautiful art, and others, my talk will talk about hidden or maybe not so hidden strategies!
