I built a 2D fluid shader in Unity that doesn’t use any art assets—just code. It creates fluid-like movement in real time, reacting to input and motion based on simplified fluid dynamics, inspired by the work of Jos Stam’s paper ‘Stable Fluids’.
I’ve used this shader to create interesting special effects, and even baked them into sprite sheets for ongoing projects.
